RULES AND REGULATIONS

FACTS:

This is a semi-selective, independent and private roleplay blog for Bioshock Infinite's ROSALIND LUTECE. I take no ownership for the game nor the character, and no profit is gained from this. In addition to that, I do not own the art nor the music featured on this blog.

Some icons are mine and some icons are not. As such, I have obtained certain icons from my bloody valentine, rpingicons & madhattering, billykaplan.

THE WRITER:

You may call me Lawrence (use him/his/he pronouns because I'm a guy), and the time I adhere to is GMT or GMT +1. I'm a full-time college student majoring in Physics, and I have a part-time job. I'm also actively singing in a church choir, but I try to have a balanced life between roleplaying and my schoolwork.

FOLLOWING AND UNFOLLOWING

As the blog implies, I only roleplay with mutuals and I am pretty selective to those I follow. This is because I'd prefer to keep myself up-to-date with my dash, as well as to prevent overclogging.

I will unfollow you if you attempt to be difficult (e.g. forcing ships, threatening for replies, excessive drama, etc.). I will most likely unfollow if there is excessive drama, as I have experienced being in a fandom where drama was rather excessive that it was quite hard to navigate about.

Furthermore, I am of legal age, and when it comes to NSFW matters (in the sexual sense), I will absolutely NOT roleplay these matters with minors. NSFW will actually be rather scarce (or non-existent in the sexual sense) given the nature of the character and the blog. If there is, it will be placed under a read-more. Otherwise, feel free to look at how wonderful quantum physics is to brush up on your exams.

SHIPPING

Shipping is based on chemistry, and this blog is largely multiship (meaning one ship for one verse). Discussion with the mun and character interactions are a must.

  "Bring us the girl, and wipe away the debt." And how many tries have they tried to do this business? The mistake must be mended, and being cryptic guardians do little to help the one they've enlisted, but Rosalind merely carries on with their task until she sees it ultimately finished up.
  
  
  THE PROPHET'S UNGODLY BUSINESS (pre-Infinite).
  
  Set before the Luteces' murders, Rosalind Lutece is content with her current state of being; being funded by the delirious Prophet and being associated with her 'brother' Robert is all fine and dandy, until the Prophet seeks a Lamb for his throne. It's all in good work, until she finds that one does not need an appointment with death for it to come barging in.
  
  
  A CONSTANT BON VOYAGE (post-Infinite).
  
  Constant travelling through universes, with or sans Robert is never a chore. There are thousands of possibilities, thousands of 'what if's, thousands of things to do, and she's never tired.
  
  
  THE SEAS AT THEIR BEST (rapture).
  
  Rapture is every bit of an opposite to Columbia, yet it serves as a form of retreat given the right circumstances. At times, she goes there for work, at times for leisure, but there is one thing for sure -- the seas are at their absolute best down there.
• THE ALTERNATE ULTIMATUM (canon divergence).
  
  Right after the untimely and suspicious death of Lady Comstock, Rosalind recalls the horrid scuffle between her and the deceased woman before the murder had taken place. Finally feeling a semblance of guilt and heavy responsibility over the sad state of affairs, Rosalind utilizes the Lutece Device to travel to a time before Lady Comstock was murdered, and plans to undo her wrongs by retrieving Elizabeth and saving the Holy Mother from a disillusoned prophet. The trouble is, a physicist may know how a gun works, but to use one is another question altogether.

  THE 1920S, in where Rosalind Lutece is a regular visitor to a particular time and universe that has developed slightly. Keeping true to her roots as a scientist, she branches out from her laboratories to the courts of justice as a part-time forensic scientist — with her own methods, mind. The problem is, no one really remembers any of the cases that she provides ample or no evidence to; really now, who is this lutece woman you’re talking about?

  Upon graduating from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Rosalind's loyalties waver from side to side -- justice and the Dark Lord are two very different things, and really now, who does Lutece fight for? There is no Dark Mark on her skin, yet she wields her wand as if to kill.

BIOGRAPHY

Born the only daughter of Harold Lutece and Margaret Lutece (nee Winchester), Rosalind enjoyed the life of an upper-class family. Gatherings and high teas were of the norm, yet after experiencing a very odd dream during her early adolescence, her interest in science (particularly the field of physics) grew to become what ultimately shapes her very being. As a young girl, Rosalind was exposed to various types of education, including languages, arithmetic, literature and music. In contrast to her rather serious nature even when young, Rosalind had a very wide imagination, to the point where she would guiltily indulge in the stock fairytale or two. Her mother's greatest pride was her interest and almost competitive drive for achieving virtuosity in the piano, yet her interests in physics were what ultimately distanced both mother and daughter in that aspect.

When the time came for Rosalind to be suitable for marriage prospects, modernization emerged; education for women were now permissible, and Rosalind took the opportunity to further her studies in England at a university. Many challenges stared at her in the face in the forms of culture shock, difficult professors and equally disdainful male peers, yet she graduated with the highest honors and went back to America with her head held high.

By that time, her parents bequeathed her with a considerable amount of money that was her inheritance, and passed away three years after her return. Rosalind started from scratch; she had joined a research team and in a sudden bout of events, she had trapped an atom in mid-air, something that her colleagues decided to call 'quantum levitation', yet Rosalind had a completely different terminology for it. From the discovery of that phenomenon, Rosalind continued her research until it got glaringly obvious that she was squandering money on it, and financial needs arose.

A man named Zachary Hale Comstock approached her with his plans to bring about a floating city, and with the promise of funding her research, Rosalind took the opportunity and was hailed as the woman who made the state of Columbia fly in the sky. Finally debtless, she continued her work and enjoyed a quiet, private life in Columbia until another surprise came about in the form of Robert Lutece, her alternate self from another universe.

Comstock took advantage of Rosalind's research and was largely concerned over the need for an heir, thus he had Rosalind bring him a daughter, Elizabeth, from another universe. On October 8 1893, Rosalind brought Robert and Elizabeth into her universe for the very first time, however, Robert suffered adverse effects to his person, and Elizabeth's pinky was cut off during a struggle with her biological father. Accused as being the mother of Elizabeth by Lady Comstock, Rosalind denied all accusations and informed Comstock's wife of the truth, yet she did not believe it as the methods were largely too farfetched for logical comprehension. Shortly after, Lady Comstock was murdered.

Through Robert's persuasions, both the Luteces sought to return Elizabeth, however Comstock caught wind of their plans and had Jeremiah Fink sabotage the Lutece Device, ultimately killing them both. However, while their mortal bodies remained in their universe, dead, both Robert and Rosalind realized that they are still very much alive and are very much able to travel through other universes. They continued with the plan of Elizabeth's rescue by finding the one person who could ultimately break her out -- Booker DeWitt.
